Written as a blueprint to help black men get their lives back on track, the book includes real life stories about Author Robert Jackson's life in the National Football League, his life growing up in poverty in one of the toughest neighborhoods in the Midwest, bad decisions that almost destroyed his life and how he turned it all around.
Each chapter goes a little more in depth about problems black men face on a daily basis and how they make excuses about these problems instead of finding solutions. Black men have made excuses about why they are not working, not in school, not taking care of their kids, not treating our women respectfully. Some justify using violence as a first reaction to controversy and embrace the thug mentality instead of strong positive role models. The book confronts why so many young black men try to become pro athletes even though they know it's a long shot. While so many others refuse to put an emphasis on the importance of education.
